A day begins with morning stretches and a swim. Everyone gets ready, washes up and then has breakfast. Chores need to be done by everyone. By 9:30 we will be canoeing, or on the ropes course, hiking somewhere or swimming.
Noon is lunchtime. Dishes are done, campers have a rest time, and by 2:00 pm we are swimming, playing traditional games or crafts.
Supper is at 5:30 pm. Again we need to clean up, and campers can do whatever activities they want.
8:30 pm is Sunset Spirit Spot time. This is a time where campers get to spend some quiet time in their favourite spot, watching the sunset, the animals, the fish, and the birds. Each person is encouraged to find a special place that feels good to them. They take one hour just for themselves in solitude to reflect on where they are, physically and emotionally, and to connect with the place.
9:00 pm is snack time, and at 9:30 pm we gather around the Circle fire and play some games. We then pass the Eagle Feather and speak of what’s in our hearts and how the day was. Everyone is encouraged to speak about anything on their mind in a non-threatening and very supportive way.
By now, our campers are tired. Everyone is expected to be in their teepees and asleep by 11:00. It works everytime!
